About ParClue
ParClue was created, curated, and maintained by Jon Loudon at Loudonclear LLC — a place for wacky creative endeavors, wordplay, and a little friendly competition.
The game is dedicated to Jon’s cousin, Christy, who is so supportive in his wacky creative endeavors and life adventures. Plus, words. Shedabest.
ParClue is free to play and we'd like to keep it that way!
ParClue is a daily word puzzle built around clues, hidden row words, and a golf-inspired scorecard.
Each puzzle has a saved par value. If a puzzle does not have one, ParClue calculates a fallback par from the number of unique letters in the answer, the number of row words, plus two extra strokes.
Themes are editorial tags, like food, nature, music, or transportation, used to keep the puzzle library varied. They do not change scoring or which guesses are accepted.
Difficulty is currently a puzzle-planning label. The present plan does vary difficulty through the week, but difficulty does not automatically change par, scoring, or gameplay rules yet.
That can be a smart opening move. If you solve the clue word first, you earn a bonus stroke. If you are unsure, start with a strong 5-letter word or a single letter to reveal more of the board.
